Just back from the noon countdown

Bel Air News & Views & family just returned from the Harford County Kids Magazine’s Noon Year’s Eve event at the Bel Air Athletic Club. My kids had a ball making crafts with the Bel Air School of Art, wearing tall, twisty balloon hats by Nothin’ Up My Sleeve and dancing to the music of Frank Spears of Marathon DJ’s. The highlight was the balloon drop at noon. And these weren’t regular balloons, they were little beach balls filled with tiny blow up snowmen. The event sold out weeks ago and drew about 300 kids, leaving a waiting list of 150 more. I had the chance to meet event sponors Peter Fernandez and his wife Joan Fernandez of Harford County Kids Magazine. They were pleased with the turn-out and are getting ready for their next big event: the Camp & Education Fair 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 10 at the freshly renovated Harford Mall. If you’re still looking for something to do this weekend, their new Harford County Entertainment & Dining guide can be found as an insert to their magazine or by clicking on www.harfordentertainment.com. Oh, and if your kids are online, you might like the story in the magazine’s January issue on online safety. They include some good safe teen blogging tips from www.Blogsafety.com.
