Bel Air’s fireworks went off as scheduled tonight despite some rain, a little lightning and forecasts for more severe weather. After hearing from Mayor Terence O. Hanley that the fireworks were going to go off on schedule, my husband and I tossed the kids in the van and headed up to the Greenbrier Shopping Center. The place was packed but a nice dad holding a toddler directed us to an empty spot with a perfect view of the fireworks out the passenger side window. More rain fell as the fireworks exploded, but we just stayed in the car. Getting out of the lot took almost as long as the half-hour show. But we had parked near the Ravens Ultimate Fan van and they were cranking the music, so it was a party.
