On our way back from Thanksgiving dinner in Rosedale, BANV & family spied a line of expectant Black Friday shoppers that wrapped around the White Marsh Best Buy at about 10 p.m. When we made it back to Bel Air, the parking lot outside the Best Buy in the Harford Mall Annex was empty. I was confused until I spied the police tape stretched across the parking lot entrances and the mall security car parked nearby. We drove around to the back of the store and saw about 10 cars parked near the mall’s rear entrance on Blum Court, with a few bundled up folks camping out on lawn chairs. I remembered that last year I read reports about how the owners of the Harford Mall Annex have a policy against allowing shoppers to camp out on the property. Then on the 11 p.m. news, Channel 11 reported that security planned to allow Bel Air Best Buy shoppers to line up on the mall property starting at 2:30 a.m. The store opens at 5 a.m. Friday. Outside Circuit City in the Tollgate Mall (which apparently has an entirely different policy) a line of shoppers wrapped around the corner of the building. Circuit City also opens at 5 a.m. I’m going to bed now, but if any of you camped out and got great deals, please let me know.
