Contentious Forest Hill Kohl’s plan goes before the Harford County Development Advisory Committee on May 7


    While reading the legal notices in the Aegis yesterday, I noticed that the contentious Village at Forest Lakes development is up for review at the Harford County Development Advisory Committee meeting on May 7. Local residents opposed to the development, which would bring a Kohl’s Department store and a Starbucks to the 10.5-acre site across from the Forest Lakes housing development and the Forest Lakes Elementary School, have a rally scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday and a community meeting planned for 7:30 p.m. April 23 in the Forest Lakes Elementary School cafeteria. The county’s official development review process picks up again at its May 7 meeting. Here’s the details from the agenda item available at

    Meeting Location: 220 South Main Street, Bel Air, MD 21014 – 2nd floor conference room
    Location of Proposed Development: Located on the west side of Rock Spring Road at/near the intersection with Osborne Parkway in Forest Hill
    Description of Proposed Development: Site includes 10.5 acres currently zoned B2 and will include one proposed 2-story building and two smaller pad sites, each for commercial use
