Hundreds show up for No Kohl’s in Forest Hill rally, and it looks like some press came too

In a rather dangerous act of drive-by blogging, BANV cruised past the No Kohl’s rally organized by the No Kohl’s in Forest Hill group. More than 250 people showed up at the corner of Rock Spring Road and Osborne Parkway and I took their picture as I made a left turn. (I would have stopped, but I was due at another non-blogging engagement.) Forest Lakes residents oppose the Klein’s family’s plan to put a Kohl’s department store on the 10.5-acre property next to their homes and the the Forest Lakes Elementary School. While last Friday’s rally attracted about 40 sign-waving residents, tonight’s drew more than 250, according to organizers. It also drew some press — and not just the blogging kind. Click here for coverage on WBAL’s website. The opposition group’s organizers also reported a more than 200-person turn out for a community meeting they held at the elementary school Wednesday night. The Klein family’s plan for the property goes before the Harford County Development Advisory Committee at its meeting May 7.
