Bel Air hosts the 7th Annual Maryland State Barbecue Bash this Friday and Saturday in and around the State Courthouse parking lot at Bond and Thomas Streets in downtown Bel Air. Click here for a map. Some 50 teams are expected to barbecue chicken, pork ribs, pork shoulder and beef brisket for $10,000 in prizes. The event includes a beer garden, craft village and kids zone. On Saturday, the Bel Air farmer’s market runs from 7 a.m. to noon at the site with the BBQ event starting at noon. Entertainers include singer, songwriter and comedienne Kacey Jones from Nashville who performs 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. The band Whiskey Falls headlines the night. Saturday’s entertainers are Patrick Alban and Noche Latina, a latin and rock band and Old Man Brown, a Baltimore band with new southern soul that specializes in rock, blues, soul and funk. Saturday’s headliner are The Roll Models, Reverend Billy C. Wirtz and Victor Wainwright, a southern old time gospel and blues band.
