Although the developers of the Kohl’s department store planned for the 10-acre parcel owned by the Klein Family off Rock Spring Road gained the county’s approval to build, the area residents who have been protesting the development aren’t giving up without another fight. The “No Kohl’s in Forest Hill” group announced they’ve filed an appeal in the Circuit Court stating the Kohl’s violates the Master Plan of Greater Bel Air. They’ve also scheduled an Election Day rally at the Forest Lakes Elementary School polling site, which is next to the parcel where the new Kohl’s is to be built.
Here’s the e-mail they’ve been circulating:
“We just want to let you know that, although we have been quiet, the “No Kohl’s Movement” is still working for our community. As of today, Halloween, we have filed an appeal in the Circuit Court stating the Kohl’s violates the Master Plan of Greater Bel Air which includes our neighborhood.
Additionally, we have been in touch with TV media regarding our continued efforts to fight this irresponsible development by our school. We plan to rally this coming Tuesday, Election Day, by Forest Lakes School.
If you are available to participate in our rally, please respond to this email and your information will be forwarded to the Rally Coordinator.
