Harford County could get a Martin’s banquet hall

This morning’s Baltimore Sun reports that Harford County could get a Martin’s banquet hall. A meeting is scheduled Wednesday with company founder Martin Resnick (click here to read last month’s Baltimore Magazine profile on him), and representatives from the Army and Harford County. Resnick told the paper that while he’d been considering a Harford County site for some time, he feels the BRAC Army expansion makes this the right time. He said the new hall would hold from 800 to 1,200 guests — many more than can now be accommodated at the county’s existing facilities. The story says Martin’s isn’t concentrating on any one site, but the county is working to spur interest in the Government and Technology Enterprise (GATE) complex of 400 acres near the Aberdeen Proving Ground entrance at Route 715.
