This morning’s Aegis reports that the next school the Harford County school district will build will be the Red Pump Elementary School — not the Campus Hills school. A disagreement between the school district and the Harford County Council on where to build the school seems to have been resolved following a Monday meeting. The story indicates the Red Pump school could open in 2011 and it sounds like it will need a septic system as public sewer isn’t yet available at the site. The story indicates that eventually both schools will need to be built — particularly if the developers of the yet-to-be built Blake’s Legacy housing development gain approval to put 250 houses near the Red Pump school. If that happens, the story says, the Red Pump school could wind up full to capacity as soon as it opens.
