Car break-ins more than doubled this summer in Harford County, The Aegis reports

This morning’s Aegis is reporting more trouble with car break-ins in Harford County this summer. The Harford County Sheriff’s Office counted 231 car break-ins in the past 30 days, according to The Aegis. Last year, the Sheriff’s Office recorded only 102 such crimes during the same time period, the story says. A BANV reader (thank you!) alerted me to some crime trouble in her Irwin’s Choice neighborhood near Forest Hill earlier this week while the Talking About Abingdon blog reported backpack-toting teens breaking into cars in broad daylight in the Constant Friendship development. Talking About Abingdon also is reporting a suspicious 20-something hanging out between Stone Mill Drive and the pool on Crisfield.

Hopefully the start of school and cooler weather will curb some of this crime. In the meantime, remember to lock your doors and don’t leave anything valuable in your cars.
