Moore’s Candies has closed its Bond Street location; plans to re-open in old Lutz Applicance space on Bel Air’s Main St. mid-September

I was surprised to see the Moore’s Candies store on Bond St. was empty with a “For Lease” sign in the window yesterday, so I called the owner’s son Dana Heyl today to see what was up. He told me they decided to move their candy store to Main Street where they could benefit from the increased foot traffic the businesses see over there. They plan to re-open in mid-September. Their new location will be a slightly smaller store in a portion of the space in the Lutz building that used to house the Lutz Appliance store at 10 N. Main St. That will put the candy store right between Tiny Toes children’s store and the Barely Used consignment store. “We just decided that would be better to serve the population,” Heyl said, adding that the store had surveyed customers before making its decision to move. When the store re-opens, it will feature their candies, ice creams and gifts. In the meantime, Bel Air residents can get Moore’s Candies at the ShopRite grocery locations on Main St., Festival and in Forest Hill. Heyl said they’ll also be selling their candy at the Maryland BBQ Bash in Bel Air next weekend. And, their factory store about 25 minutes away in Hamilton (3004 Pinewood Avenue) is also open.
