If you haven’t checked it out already, please give the Harford County Kids Magazine’s new website a look. It’s called County Parents Magazine and you an read it at www.countyparents.com. Click here to give it a look. There you’ll find all the articles you see in the free monthly magazine that is delivered to homes around town and available in places like the Bel Air Athletic Club, Toys R Us and other stores. This month the site features an article on dealing with AD/HD, tips on how to communicate best with your children’s teachers and an article on how to talk to your children about the H1N1 swine flu without scaring them. I write regularly for the magazine about volunteer opportunities for children and clubs they can join. The latest edition includes my pieces on the upcoming Alzheimer’s Association’s Memory Walk Oct. 3 and the competitive creative problem solving program Destination Imagination. The website also includes access to an archive of all the articles that have appeared in previous issues, providing a vast resource of information. In addition to the articles, the site is also full of informative lists that can make life easier. I used its Party Planner resources found in the left hand side of the page to help come up with ideas for my daughter’s birthday party. It also includes lists of child care facilities, camps, restaurants, area attractions and more. Give it a look.
