Owner of Bliss in Belcamp collecting donations for Haitians this weekend

Sarah Brown, owner of Bliss Coffee & Wine Bar in Belcamp is offering a way for local residents to directly help the Haitians dealing with the aftermath of this week’s disastrous earthquake. Tomorrow (Saturday, Jan. 16) and Sunday (Jan. 17), Brown is opening her restaurant at 7 a.m. to start collecting bottled water, canned goods, medical supplies and money for the Haitians. Her husband, who is retired from the Marine Corps, is coordinating with the military to put the donations on a flight to Haiti early next week. She says they understand the Haitians need bottled water, the kind of medical supplies you’d find in a First Aid kit (alcohol, bandages, gauze, iodine) and checks made out to Catholic Relief Services. Anyone interested in donating, should bring their donations to the restaurant at 1402 Handlir Drive (Routes 7 and 543). For more information, call 410-272-0505.
