Update 7 p.m.: Rich Gardiner of the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company says: “Harford County roads are not closed. This was an error on the part of MEMA and the Governors Office.”
A BANV reader (thank you!) just pointed out that Harford County closed all roads to traffic today. Whether or not your road is plowed is beside the point. The county doesn’t want you on the road, regardless. The Baltimore Sun’s Michael Dresser reported:
“Harford County has closed local roads to traffic, according to Maryland Transportation Secretary Beverly Swaim-Staley. She said Frederick County has joined Montgomery in suspending plowing.
Salt is running low at some locations, but there’s plenty at the port of Baltimore if trucks can reach the terminal.”
When the snow stops (which Ch. 11 is saying should be between 8 p.m. & 11 p.m.), then that will be a good time to let each other know when we see a plowed road. Please leave a comment here or on BANV’s Facebook page or go ahead and update our homemade interactive Harford County snow plow map:
Thanks! & stay safe!
