Got a dirty car? Try a Word Series wash Saturday and help local softball players make it to their big game

The young women of the 18U Forest Hill HEAT want to wash your car this Saturday to help them raise the money they need to get to their fast pitch softball World Series in Salisbury, Md. next month. The World Series will give these players a chance to compete against teams from all over the state and to show their skills in front of college scouts. They need to raise money to pay for a place to stay at the tournament, food and other costs. Help them out by stopping by their event at the BP gas station on the corner of Rock Spring Road (924) and Red Pump Road, where the Sharon’s Shaved Ice sno-ball stand sits, across from the McDonald’s. They ask that you donate at least $5 for the wash, although you’re welcome to donate more. They’ll be washing cars from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 26. Don’t forget, Red Pump Road is closed between Vale Road and Cedarwood Drive. Take Vale Road to 924 to avoid the detour.
