If you want a great seat for fireworks tonight, and you’re willing to spend a little money, head over to Oregon Ridge Park in Baltimore tonight. My family just got back from the July 3 performance of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra followed by fireworks at the park and the show goes on again July 4. The orchestra is wonderful. It starts at 8 p.m., but you’ll want to get there closer to when the doors open at 5 p.m. to get a good spot on the sprawling lawn in front of the outdoor amphitheater. Bring blankets and lawn chairs. If you don’t want to bring your own picnic, they sell food and drinks on site. When the concert ends, you simply need to turn to the south and everyone on the hillside has a perfect view of the fireworks. My 7-year-old took the video of the finale I’ve embedded with this post. The evening costs $20 per adult, $10 for kids under 12. Parking is free if you take a shuttle, but it’s $15 on site. Getting in was easy today. We got there just before 5 p.m. It took us about a half hour to follow the crowd out when it was time to leave.
