Free Movies

Up first is the free outdoor movie at Shamrock Park tomorrow (Friday, July 23). The Bel Air Downtown Alliance is sponsoring the showing of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” at dusk. The event starts at 7 p.m. and features entertainment by the Bel Air Cultural Arts Commission. Popcorn will be sold for $1. Click here for more info.


The Edgewood Alliance is also sponsoring a free movie in the Edgewood Boys and Girls Club gymnasium, 2002 Cedar Dr. Edgewood. “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” will start at 7 p.m. Bring a blanket or chairs to sit on. Snacks will be available.

Family Campfire at Anita Leight Estuary Center

Anita Leight Estuary Center is offering a family campfire from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday, July 23 at the Pontoon Pier property. Cost is $10 per family or $3 per person. Click here for details or call 410-612-1688.

All you can eat pancake breakfast soccer fundraiser at Applebee’s

Famous Dave’s parking lot picnic

The new sign is up, the facade has been renovated and on Saturday, July 24, Famous Dave’s restaurant (at the former location of Uno Chicago Grill) will give Bel Air a taste of what will be cooking there when it opens Aug. 16. Starting at 2 p.m. Saturday, the restaurant will offer a free rib-tasting in the restaurant’s parking lot at 615-B Bel Air Rd.

Donate the paperbacks you’ve already read at the Bel Air library

The Harford County Public Library will be collecting donations of the paperback books you’ve already read and no longer want from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 24 at the loading dock at the Bel Air branch, 100 E. Pennsylvania Avenue. The books will be sold at the library’s book sale scheduled for Aug. 7.

TD Bank’s Carnival of Dogs

The Humane Society of Harford County will bring a variety of great dogs that need forever homes to TD Bank’s Carnival of Dogs at the Bel Air branch, 115 Baltimore Pike, on July 24, 2010 from 11am – 3pm. There will be games for canines and their handlers, vendors, face painting and plenty of refreshments. Adoptions counselors will be on hand to answer your questions and help you find a match. Adopt your best friend from HSHC – uniting pets and people since 1947!

Luna’s House Adoption Table at PetSmart

Luna’s House will have an Adoption Table set up at PetSmart, 412 Constant Friendship Boulevard, Abingdon from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 24. Luna’s House is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bettering the lives of animals and is comprised of a network of foster homes for small animals in need.

Havre de Grace Maritime Museum Maritime Heritage Waterfront Festival
