Get a massage AND help fight breast cancer

Relax and support a great cause at the same time. On Tuesday, September 14, 2010, Massage Envy hosts Massage for the Cure, a nationwide event in which Massage Envy teams up with Susan G. Komen for the Cure to help win the fight against breast cancer. During this one-day event, 620 Massage Envy clinics across the country will offer $49 one-hour therapeutic massage sessions, and and they are donating 30-percent of the price directly to the Susan G. Komen to support breast cancer education, screening, and treatment initiatives.
According to the National Cancer Institute, there were approximately 192,370 cases of breast cancer in U.S. women in 2009. As the largest provider of therapeutic massage in the U.S., Massage Envy recognizes that massage is a vital piece to overall wellness. Massage offers many health benefits, including the valuable role it has shown to serve in the treatment of breast cancer.

Massage for the Cure has raised more than $1.4 million for Susan G. Komen for the Cure and this year hopes to raise $29,000 through their Washington, D.C., Virginia and Maryland clinics. To help them reach their goal, reserve your massage appointment on Sept. 14 at their Bel Air clinic in the Bel Air Plaza at 591 Baltimore Pike.
