Maryland State BBQ Bash

The 9th annual Maryland State BBQ Bash takes place Friday and Saturday in the parking lot of the Mary Risteau (State Office Building), 108 S. Bond Street, Bel Air. Hours are 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 13 and noon to 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14. The free event sponsored by the Bel Air Downtown Alliance has drawn 30,000 people in past years. It includes the Maryland State BBQ Championship contest where 50 competition teams from the Mid-Atlantic area and beyond will compete for $10,000 in cash prizes. Bel Air Farmer’s Market

The Bel Air Farmer’s Market is open 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14 at 2 South Bond Street. New this year, the market has a wireless terminal that accepts credit and debit cards. For more information, visit the Bel Air Farmer’s Market website at

Concert by the Bay

Dog Days of Summer
