I don’t know if Justin Bieber gets butterflies, but I know I’m getting pretty nervous about his concert at the Maryland State Fair Sunday. I am one of the crazy people who bought the 12,000 tickets to the concert within 18 minutes of them going on sale. Now I’m going to be joining all those crazy people on the Timonium fairgrounds grassy infield, hoisting my 7-year-old so she can get a peek at her idol. I’m hoping someone out there might have some tips to share on how to survive this concert, which even has its organizers all aflutter. The fair’s Assistant General Manager Andrew Cashman told The Baltimore Sun, “We’ve never had anything like this before, not for the state fair. It’s unbelievable.” Yikes! They will start handing out armbands at 8 a.m. and I hear fans are going to line up before dawn to get the armbands that will get them closest to the stage. But I don’t think my kids can handle predawn lines and a late night concert all in the same day. (Maybe they can, but I’m pretty sure I can’t.) If you’ve been to a state fair concert before and have some tips to share I’d love to hear them!
