Help support Harford County’s foster and adoptive parents at their Saturday bullroast

The Harford County Foster/Adoptive Parent Association needs to sell 30 more tickets to make their Saturday fundraiser a success, says organizer Wendy Willard. She’s hoping Bel Air News & Views readers can help. Wendy is a foster parent and member of the association which supports Harford County’s foster families. Money raised at events like this Saturday’s New England Style Bull Roast at the Bel Air Armory helps to pay for outings where foster children can spend time with their siblings, who often end up in different foster homes. Last year, the association sponsored a trip to Hershey Park for more than 50 foster kids.

Tickets to Saturday’s event are $45 each or $350 for a table of 10. The menu includes pit beef, pit ham, pit turkey, clam chowder, steamed mussels, sides, dessert, beer, and soda. Fresh Maine lobsters can also be purchased for an additional $10 each. (Wendy’s mother-in-law will be driving the lobsters down from Maine the day of the event.)

Doors open at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9 for the 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. event. The Bel Air Reckord Armory is at 37 N. Main St.

“Not everyone can physically care for foster children,” says Wendy, ” but the funds raised will help our children see they are not alone in their struggles.”
