Avoid holiday weight gain with this lower-calorie treat recipe suggested by Transitions Lifestyle System

Bel Air News & Views sponsor Angela DeBrigida of Transitions Lifestyle System™ says this holiday season you can help avoid weight gain by tweaking traditional recipes with lower-calorie, low-glycemic  ingredients that won’t cause your blood sugar to spike. Instead of your usual Christmas cookies, she suggests you try this oatmeal square recipe that uses low calorie sweeteners and oatmeal, which provides soluble fiber that helps you feel fuller sooner.

Jackie’s Oatmeal Squares

7 Tbsp. Butter

1 Tbsp. Splenda* Brown Sugar

1/2 Cup Dark Agave Nectar

1 1/4 Cups Old fashioned Oats

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Melt butter, Splenda, and Agave in saucepan over low heat

Add oats and stir well.

Pout into 9 inch baking pan & press firmly

Bake 20-25 minutes or until golden brown
