Vogt house on Harrogate Way in Abingdon

A local mom asked me the other day what were the best places around Bel Air to take her toddlers to see holiday lights? I threw her question out to BANV’s Facebook fans and got back 28 responses from Christmas light-loving readers. I’ll share them with you here and please feel free to add some of your own favorite Christmas light viewing spots.

  • Drive by would be the Dr. Kreiner’s dental office in front of Fountain Green Elementary on Rt. 543. You can pull into the school for a closer look. Added bonus is the “palm tree” house to the right as you head north on 543.
  • The Vogt house on Harrogate Way in Abingdon. Donations support the Ryan Leung autism fund. http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000471829466.
  • Go to abingdonlights.com website and it’s a house that has its own radio station and their lights go w the songs! really neat. And the house isn’t that far either. Click here to visit them on Facebook.
  • Not necessarily local but hersheypark has a great setup every year. For not much you get a lot of rides, lights, santa, his reindeer, and great fun. Dutch wonderland has recently gotten in on the fun as well.
  • The Garceau house in (King’s Arm) Fallston, I have not been by there yet this year, it is amazing!
  • Kings Arm in Fallston. On the Left off 152 almost to Hess Road. The homes are decked out and always a hit with my kids
  • National Harbor ICE
  • There is a house on Bear Cabin Dr off of Osborne Pkwy in Forest Hill. Also in town Take main Street north Past Shop Rite and make a left on Hall Street there will be a house on the right you cant miss it you can even drive into their driveway
  • The Jones mansion off Hall Street has been a long time favorite, but I haven’t been there yet this year.
  • There’s always 34th street in Hamden 🙂
  • If you want to see lights, LOL, you have to go just once to 34th St in Hampden – best to park and walk thru- FANTASTIC – my kids still talk about it….
  • We always check out the Hampden lights and eat at Cafe Hon afterwards 🙂
  • Best house in Bel Air is in Hack Berry Court!
  • Come Listen to the lights on Hack Berry Ct in Bel Air Md. Enjoy watching 30,000 lights synchronized to holiday music while tuning to FM 107.7 on your car radio. Show times Sun – Thurs 5 to 10pm. Fri and Sat 5 to 11pm. Extended hours until 1am on Christmas Eve and Christmas night. http://christmas.mastersfamily.com/Holiday%20Lights%20on%20Hack%20Berry%20Ct.wmv
  • Another great place is Herr’s Potato Chip Factory!!! Its a little drive up rt1 through Cecil county, just over the PA line! We go every year!!!
  • Ring factory road is good, as is brunswick and redfield road in Bel Air, longwood gardens in kennet square Pa Is beautiful, and cheap, plus they have a kids conservatory with a lot of activities for children.
  • There’s a house on Ingleside Dr in Jarrettsville that is always really amazing! You need to park and walk through, though… there’s sooo much! Take 24N to 23W to 165N, about 1m on L is Ingleside Dr: turn, park, enjoy! 🙂
  • Longwood Garden’s has a great display.
  • Longwood Gardens is beautiful, but the Herr’s potato chip factory just up route 1 in PA has a lights display that you can drive through- free and only about 5 minutes to go through, great for toddlers because you can go through as many times as they are willing to sit through.
  • Hargrove in Box Hill North!!
  • Box Hill is great! There is a cool house there that does crazy light every year. Take a few bucks for a donation for their charity that they do the lights for.
  • What happened to the guy on the corner of 152 and Harford Rd? Anybody know? I thought maybe they were redoing the intersection and taking his corner away….sniff sniff. He had some awesome lights.
