According to accounts Fallston’s head coach Mark Hannahs provided to The Aegis, the fight broke out after players on both teams fought for the rebound on a 3-point shot missed by an Elkton player. Shoving between players led to players on the Elkton bench and about 20 fans in the stands to enter basketball court and the fighting began, according to The Aegis.

Harford County Sheriff’s Office deputies helped school officials break up the fight and Fallston players and fans were held inside the school until Elkton fans left the building and parking lot, The Aegis reported. Elkton players were escorted to their bus.

Fallston was declared the winner of the game and will play for the regional championship at 6 p.
