Schools in Harmony benefit concert for the new Red Pump Elementary music program May 26

The first of two concerts to benefit the new Red Pump Elementary School is May 26 at 6:30 p.m. at Forest Lakes Elementary School, 100 Osborne Pkwy. Schools in Harmony is a Gold Award Project by the Girl Scouts to help the new school purchase instruments for its music program. The next concert is 6:30 p.m. on June 2.

Gallery Walk of Senior Projects May 26

Save the Date for the First Graduating Class of the Biomedical Sciences Program Class of 2011 Gallery Walk of Senior Projects, to be held Thursday, May 26, 2011, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Bel Air High School. The Gallery Walk will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the dining area and the presentation of certificates will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium.

Bel Air New Car Dealers Car Show May 26-30

The Bel Air New Car Dealers Car Show comes to the Festival at Bel Air shopping center for its first ever Memorial Day weekend event. The event starts Thursday and continues through Monday at the corner of Route 24 and Bel Air South Parkway. The show includes great deals on all makes and models including Chevrolet, Chrysler, Ford, Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, Subaru and Jeep. If you’re in the market for a used car, make sure to visit the “Used Car Corral” to see cars including BMW, Volvo, Jaguar, Infiniti and Lexus. Look for the giant inflatable “King Kong” on Route 24. He has appeared at every car show at Festival since 1993.

NCAA Youth LAX Day Tournament May 29

The 2nd Annual NCAA Youth LAX Day Tournament, comes to Cedar Lane Park at Carsins Run in Aberdeen for a day-long tournament. Thirty-six teams of middle school students from New York, Pennsylvania, Florida, Virginia and Maryland will compete. Professional lacrosse players Drew Westervelt (a John Carroll alum, drafted in the MLL 1st round) and Tom Marechek are scheduled to give clinics. The event is free and open to the public. On Monday, May 30, five Harford County lacrosse teams will scrimmage at M&T Bank Stadium field before the NCAA Division One Championship game later that day.

Edgewood High School is scheduled to induct 15 alumni, former staff members and community supporters into its newly formed Hall of Fame on June 1, 2011, at 12:50 p.m. Jointly sponsored by the school and the Edgewood High School Alumni Association, the ‘Hall’ will honor those whose contributions have contributed to the success of the school over its 57 years of existence. Electric Violinist Mark Wood performs with students at Fallston High June 7

Electric Violinist Mark Wood, formerly from Trans Siberian Orchestra, will be returning to Youth’s Benefit Elementary School this year to share his talents and compose the “Electrify Your Strings Orchestra.” On June 6 and 7, 2011, he will work with the Youth’s Benefit Elementary and Fallston Middle string students to compose an orchestra rock concert that will be performed at Fallston High School on June 7, 2011. This is always an amazing concert, and Mr. Wood is a wonderful teacher, musician and role model to all students. Mr. Wood is an accomplished musician who has played with Billy Joel, Celine Dion, Lenny Kravitz and Paul McCartney, just to name a few. Recently, he has been featured on The Today Show, as well as many other local television and radio shows as he tours the United States and performs with young students.
