Charity Photowalk to benefit the House of Ruth

Bel Air, MD, Sept 2, 2011 — Lux Amoris is hosting a charity photowalk in Fell’s Point to benefit the House of Ruth on September 25, 9am-12pm.

Registration will begin at 8:30, and the cost to participate is $20. All funds raised will go to the House of Ruth. Local photographers, as well as travelers from points as far as New York, will gather in Fell’s Point in downtown Baltimore to walk the area where they will photograph anything that catches their eyes. Patterns in the cobblestones, architecture, street portraits of tourists, and anything else they come across will be documented for this charity gathering. At noon the photographers will meet back up to discuss their images and experiences as well as network over lunch.

Though not required, preregistration is recommended, which can be done through the website: The first 50 people to preregister will receive a goodie bag full of discount codes and other promotional offers from our sponsors.

Photographers will have one week to edit their favorite images of the day to submit to the contest. The registration fee includes one image entry to this contest, and additional images can be entered at $10 each, to no maximum.

You do not need to be a professional to participate. All lovers of photography are welcomed, as well as any loved ones who might want to join. Camera phones are just as welcome as professional grade cameras. Entering the contest is not required, although it is encouraged.

A panel of professional photographers from around the country will judge the entries and award a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place designation. Each winner will receive a fantastic prize package, generously donated by our sponsors. First place has an approximate prize value of $3,850, including items such as a custom designed blogsite by Exquiture, a $100 gift certificate to the Album Cafe, and a set of photoshop actions by Swiss Miss Design Haus, among many other prizes. Second place has an approximate value of $643, and includes a website template by FolioJam, photoshop actions by Itty Bitty Actions, and a $200 gift certificate to My Four Hens, as well as several other prizes.
