The Sharing Hope Foundation is hosting a Homelessness Summit tomorrow night at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 1645 E. Churchville Rd. in Bel Air. The Homelessness Summit 2011 – The Circle of Care in THE TENT, to be held 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, is to feature special guest speaker Tracey Tiernan of 95.1 SHINE-FM. Here’s a description of the event from the organizers:

The new “face” of homelessness is now families with children. According to the United way, the average age of a homeless person in the US right now is age 9. Have you ever wondered who you would turn to if you and your family or friends became homeless? What resources and support would be available to you in your time of need and crisis? Maybe you have always wanted to help with an organization that helps people dealing with homelessness? Then this is where you need to be!

There is hope and we are meeting the needs of Harford County’s Homeless by surrounding them with the compassion, services and the housing they need to move from homelessness and hopelessness to wholeness and independence!

Come to the Homeless Summit and learn how you can be a part of the Circle of Care by plugging in to existing services and by helping to create other services that currently do not exist. Everyone can help in some way and you will have the chance to partner with other Christians to meet the real needs of the homeless.

Join us for worship, learn more about the vision for tackling homelessness in Harford County and how the homeless Circle of Care can partner with churches to successfully transition our homeless individuals and families to an independent, hope-filled life!
