Harford County Sheriff’s Office releases details on accident that killed the 20-year-old son of the Harford County Council President


The Harford County Sheriff’s Office released the following information on Monday’s early morning single-vehicle accident that killed Benjamin Boniface, the 20-year-old son of Harford County Council President Billy Boniface:

Fatal Accident in Darlington MD

(June 18, 2012 – Darlington, MD: 1:30pm) At approximately 4:50am on Monday, June 18, 2012, Harford County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a private farm in the 3700 block of Harmony Church Rd in Darlington, MD for a report of a motor vehicle crash.  Deputies and Emergency Medical Services responded to the location. The victim, Benjamin Boniface, age 20 of the 3700 block of Harmony Church Road in Darlington, MD was pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS at 4:58am.

Deputies have determined that the victim was driving a 1994 Ford pick up truck along a private farm lane, where he resided.   The victim and his truck were located on the family property, shortly before 4:30am, by a night watchman who contacted the farm owner and 911. Deputies believe that the driver lost control of his vehicle when he failed to negotiate a curve.

  The vehicle left the roadway and struck a fence.  Parts of the fence went through the windshield causing trauma to the driver.
