Four teams of Harford County moms have organized a charity Powder Puff game at Patterson Mill High School this Saturday to raise money for the Homes for Our Troops program. The game is at 1 p.m. Nov. 17 at Patterson Mill, 85 Patterson Mill Road in Bel Air. Here are the details:
Four teams of Harford county moms from the Emmorton Bucs (Bel air area), North Harford Hawks, and Fallston Cougars will be playing in a charity Powder Puff game at Patterson Mill High School on November 17th at 1 pm. The event is to raise money for Homes for our Troops, a non-profit organization that support wounded warriors with raising money to buy building materials and professional labor and to coordinate the process of building a home. The home that we are supporting is that of Army Medic, SSG Kelly Keck. On his first deployment to Afghanistan, he lost his right leg and suffered severe hand injuries after stepping on an anti-personnel mine. SSG Keck is originally from Kentucky, but want to stay here to be closer to medical treatment. His story is here: http://www.homesforourtroops.org/site/PageServer?pagename=Kelly_Keck.The house is currently under construction and we are hoping this donation of monetary funds can help with the completion. I think the neat part of this story is about community outreach within Harford county. Tickets are $5 at the door. All proceeds of ticket and concession sales will go to HFOT. Also, we are collecting items to send to current US deployed Troops.
