Things to do this weekend around Bel Air include the Once Upon a Time: An Evening in the Stacks 8th Annual Gala to benefit Harford County Public Library, the Children’s Center of North Harford’s Touch a Truck Event and two high school musicals: “13: The Musical” at Bel Air High School and “‘Singin’ in the Rain”  at John Carroll.

“13 The Musical” Nov. 2, 3 & 4

The Bel Air Drama Company’s (Bel Air High School) fall production dates/times for “13: the Musical” have changed.  Thursday’s performance (tonight) has been cancelled in order to allow the group to have a final dress rehearsal.  The show will open tomorrow night (Friday) at 7:00 p.m.  There will be two performances on Saturday (2:00 p.m. matinee and 7:00 p.m.).  In addition, a 2:00 p.m. matinee show has been added on Sunday. “‘Singin’ in the Rain” at John Carroll High School, Nov. 1, 2, & 3

Directed by Kim Brueggemann, “‘Singin’ in the Rain” will run November 1 – 4 in the school’s auditorium. FCCAU annual dinner “Taste of Italy,” Nov. 2

The FCCAU is hosting its annual dinner to benefit its Welcome One Emergency Shelter Nov. 2. This year’s theme is a “Taste of Italy.” The event is 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at St. Mary Magdalen, 1716 Churchville Rd., Bel Air. The dinner features an Italian buffet by Enotria and an auction of dozens of themed baskets. Tickets are $35 for FCCAU members and $40 for non-members. For more information call 410-272-2229.

St. Matthew Lutheran Church German Fest, Nov. 2

This year’s GERMAN FEST will be in the Great Hall at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 1200 Churchville Rd. in Bel Air, beginning at 7:00 pm. Advance tickets are $40 person; but there is a special price of $300 for a table of 8 people (a $20 savings). Advance tickets need to be purchased by October 28th. MENU – Roast Pork, Chicken, Wursts, Germon potato salad, Sauerkraut, Green beans with Spetzle, Baked Apples, Black Forest Cake, Apple Strudel, Beer, Wine, Sodas and Coffee. Children’s Center of North Harford’s Touch a Truck Event at Hawks Hill Creamery, Nov. 3

The Children’s Center of North Harford is hosting a Touch a Truck Event from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3 at Hawks Hill Creamery, 805 Highland Rd. in Street. The event features  emergency vehicles, farm equipment, go-karts, a hot air balloon, construction equipment, chaos and kayaks. In addition, there will be face painting, pony rides, a bounce house and a petting zoo. Admission is $7 per child and a maximum cost of $20 per family. Adults and children under 2 are free. “Dreams to ACTION!” life goals seminar, Nov. 3

Harford County-based professional organizers Sappari Solutions will host “Dreams to ACTION!,” a seminar focused on achieving life goals, on Saturday, November 3, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 at Safe Harbor Travels Agency in Bel Air. “Dreams to ACTION!” is designed to teach individuals techniques to achieve their life dreams, tackle projects and gain confidence. The half day seminar will cover a variety of topics, including goal setting, creating a life list, action plans, time management, healthy habits, and productivity and prioritizing. Harford Ballet Company’s Nutcracker program at Bel Air Library, Nov. 4

Harford Ballet Company will be presenting a Nutcracker outreach program for children this Sunday Nov. 4 from 2-3pm at the Bel Air public library. The presentation will include story time, short performances from the Nutcracker Ballet and a movement class for children where they can meet Clara and the Sugar Plum Fairy. A support group for people dealing with Crohn’s & Colitis is forming. The group welcomes people who have the disease and their family and friends.
