Emmorton Elementary School recently donated $1,450 to the Center for the Arts it raised by auctioning pottery made by school faculty and staff. Here are the details:

EMMORTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL & THE CENTER FOR THE ARTS

(March 1, 2013 Bel Air, MD) Charter Member Emmorton Elementary School recently donated $1,450 to the Center for the Arts. Faculty and staff members created beautiful pottery pieces which were auctioned off at a recent school gathering. “We truly appreciate the time, artistic talents, and hard work that it took to create such a wonderful collection of beautiful pottery for the auction. Emmorton Elementary truly has an amazing community of people working hard to support the Center for the Arts. We are honored to be the recipient of the funds generated by the auction which included the students and their parents”, said Sallee Kunkel Filkins, Center for the Arts Executive Director.

The Center for the Arts is a non-profit organization, dedicated to the establishment of a Center for the Arts in Abingdon, on a 41 acre site across from Emmorton Elementary School. It will have galleries, theatres, and classrooms for people of all ages to explore music, dance, and theater, literary, visual,and arts traditional arts.
