(Belcamp, Maryland – May 17, 2013) Enjoy a truly unique musical role playing experience with General Grant and President Lincoln!  Will and Bernadine Boyce have spent years perfecting their impersonations of  General and Mrs. Grant (along with other Civil War personalities) and Dr. Duke Thompson, Director of the Maryland Conservatory of Music, has recently conceived a concert performance unlike any other he has ever done.  Together these presenters will bring an entertaining program entitled Dr. Duke and Mr. President, to Harford County on June 1st.

First guests will enjoy tasting foods from the antebellum North and South and conversing with the Grants at a reception at the Havre de Grace Library beginning at 6:30 pm. The Grants will then escort guests at 7pm next door to St. John’s, home of the Maryland Conservatory of Music where they will be treated to a rare glimpse of Lincoln’s musical side.  This lesser known side of the 16th President is explored in Dr. Duke and Mr. President. Portraying Lincoln, concert pianist Dr. Thompson plays many of the popular songs of the day and those Lincoln was said to have enjoyed. It is a survey not only of the music that influenced Lincoln’s life, but also the musical story of the times.

Reservations are required for this program and seating is limited.  Please call the Havre de Grace Library at 410-939-6700 to make your reservation.
