Long & Foster To Hold 2nd Annual Humane Society Benefit Event at Bel Air Town Center, Oct. 19

Bel Air, Md. Long & Foster Real Estate, Inc. will hold its second annual fundraiser to benefit the Humane Society of Harford County, Saturday, Oct. 19, from 1-4 PM.

Taking place in the Long & Foster parking lot at Bel Air Town Center (590 Baltimore Pike, Bel Air, Md. 21014), the family- and dog-friendly event will feature food by Chik-fil-A, a DJ/music, gift basket auctions, raffles, door prizes, a moon bounce for the kids donated by Party Party.

Both the Humane Society of Harford County and Bellas Bully Buddies will have dogs available for adoption and Bella Bully Buddies also will provide inexpensive micro-chipping. What’s more, the Harford County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit will perform demonstrations and a mobile pet groomer will be on hand.

Along with Long & Foster, Sage Title Co., Long & Foster Insurance and Prosperity Mortgage are event sponsors. Chili’s, Box Hill Pizzeria and Edible Arrangements are some of the local businesses that have donated gift cards.

Tim Montoya, SFR, CDPE, a Long & Foster Realtor® who volunteers with local rescue dog organizations and the Humane Society, is coordinating the event.

“I have seen firsthand how much comfort and joy pets can bring to people,” Montoya said. “I help people find homes everyday as a Realtor. I also want to help find homes for our homeless and abandoned pets.

Mary Leavens, executive director of the Humane Society of Harford County, explained that ”having Long & Foster host this event gives us opportunity to get off our property and provide friendly outreach to the community to spread the word about us and our animals.”

She noted the money raised from the event will be added to the Humane Society’s building fund. The organization will break ground on a new shelter facility in 2014.
