Grammy Award winning children’s entertainers Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer bring their music to the Havre de Grace Library on Dec. 2. Here are the details:

GRAMMY AWARD WINNING CHILDREN’S MUSIC DUO

TO PERFORM AT HAVRE DE GRACE LIBRARY

 

(Belcamp, Maryland – November 15, 2013) Acclaimed children’s music entertainers and Grammy Award winners Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer will be performing on Monday, December 2 at 10:30 am at the Havre de Grace Library. Trailblazers in children’s music, the duo have been connecting families through music for over 25 years. Their superb harmonies are backed by instrumental acoustic and electric guitar, banjo, mandolin, ukulele, steel drum and many other instruments. Having performed over 5,000 shows in schools, folk festivals, community centers, libraries, performing arts centers and children’s festivals, Cathy & Marcy deliver a show that is fun, wacky, energetic, participatory and meaningful.

 

Cathy & Marcy won back-to-back Grammy Awards in the “Best Musical Album for Children” category in both 2004 and 2005. The dynamic duo has been honored by their peers with twelve additional Grammy nominations for children’s and folk music. Their catalogue of over 50 audio and video recordings have received awards from organizations like Parents’ Choice Foundation, The Oppenheim Toy Portfolio, American Library Association and Early Childhood News. Cathy & Marcy have entertained the Queen of Thailand, sung at the White House Easter Egg Roll, appeared on the “Today Show” and on National Public Radio. They’ve toured the US, Canada, Great Britain, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and Israel.
