Town of Bel Air Christmas parade and festivities to be held Dec. 1

The Town of Bel Air Christmas parade and festivities begin at 2:45 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1 with a concert on Courtland Street. The parade begins at 3:30 p.m. at the corner of Main Street and Churchville Road and will proceed north to Lee Street where it will turn right and end on Hickory Avenue. Immediately following the parade, there will be seasonal music, bonfire, caroling, hot chocolate, cookies and Santa Claus in Shamrock Park, along with a tree lighting and Menorah lighting.  Scheduled to appear:  Stilt-walkers and acrobats; local high school marching bands; costumed characters and mascots; beauty queens; performance units, dancers, floats and musical groups and even some special equestrian guests, ending with The Living Christmas Tree and Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus! The Celebration will be CANCELLED in the event of serious weather, including excessive cold.  In the event that occurs, cancellation will be announced on WXCY-FM  103.7, WAMD-AM 680 and on WBAL-AM 1090 on Sunday, December 1st, 12:00 pm.  There is no make-up date.
