Mt. Zion Methodist Church ~ in The Tent will be hosting The Samaritan Women’s program “Modern Day Slavery: Human Trafficking in the U.S. and Maryland” at 7 p.m. Jan. 6. Here are the details:
The Samaritan Women (www.thesamaritanwomen.org), one of the only long-term restoration programs for victims of human trafficking in the Mid-Atlantic, will bring their expertise to this impactful program. The session will present an overview of human trafficking and the alarming statistics that define what is now the second largest and fastest growing criminal enterprise in the world. You’ll learn the various forms of human trafficking, how it occurs, who are the perpetrators and victims, the Maryland legislative landscape, and what’s being done to combat this crime and care for those who have been exploited.
