The 5th Annual Celebration of Cultures will be held on Saturday, May 3rd from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bel Air Reckord Armory located at 37 North Main St. This FREE family event will feature a wide variety of diverse performances and activities. Performers will include Amartia, a belly dancer, the Ryan-Kilcoyne School of Irish Dancing, Chung’s Martial Arts Studio’s students, Greek dancers and storyteller Janice the Griot among others. There will be a children’s garden with authentic tepee, games from around the world, and face and henna painting. Ethnic foods, local artisans and vendors will fill out the day for the FREE event which is handicapped accessible. The event is sponsored by the Town of Bel Air, LASOS, Inc and the Harford County Department of Community Services. 3rd Annual Adam Thompson 5K Run/Walk, May 3
The 3rd Annual Adam Thompson 5K Run/Walk will be held Saturday, May 3, at 8 a.m. at Harford Community College, 401 Thomas Run Road in Bel Air. The race, on a USA Track and Field Certified Course, honors the memory of Adam Thompson, a first-year Harford Community College student who was killed in an automobile accident in 2011. The race is hosted by The Thompson Family, Harford Community College Foundation and The Upper Chesapeake Health Foundation. On-site race registration takes place in the Susquehanna Center Auxiliary Gymnasium beginning at 6:30 a.m., with the race starting at 8 a.m. Participants may run as individuals or organize themselves as part of a team. The Harford County Health Department is sponsoring its annual springtime rabies vaccination clinics for dogs, cats and ferrets that are three months old and over on Sunday, May 4th, 2014 from 2:00-4:00pm. The fee is $5 per animal.
