Morningstar Players present “Godspell” at Mount Zion UMC church, Aug. 15 & 16

Come join the Morningstar Players for an extremely creative telling of the classic musical, “Godspell” at Mount Zion UMC church, 1645 E. Churchville Rd. Performances are 7 p.m. Aug. 15, 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Aug. 16. Tickets are $5 but the 10 a.m. Aug. 16 performance is pay what you can. All performances will be held in the Worship Center (the “tent”). Tickets can be bought after every church service (Saturdays 5pm, Sundays 9am, 10:45am, and 6pm) or by calling the church office M-Th 9am-3pm. (410-836-7444). All ages are welcome, but some of the themes and humor in the show might be over the heads of your youngest children. There won’t be childcare provided.

Claddagh Manor Horse Show & Harford Family House Family Fun Day, Aug. 16

On Saturday, August 16, Harford Family House will be joining with Claddagh Manor horse farm in hosting a Horse Show and family fun day at the Equestrian Center 702 Tollgate Road, Bel Air, MD 21014. The horse show will begin at 8 am and take place throughout the day. The Family fun day will run from 10 am – 4pm and will include pony rides, a petting zoo, face-painting, stick horse races, crafts, vendors, food and much more! There is no cost to attend , but there will be a fee for some activities. Motorcycle Poker Run to benefit those with autism, Aug. 16

Bird’s Nest Barbecue and Pete’s Cycle Co. are hosting a Motorcycle Poker Run Aug. 16 to benefit those with autism. The ride starts and ends at Pete’s Cycle, 334 Bel Air Road in Bel Air. Candlelight vigil to raise awareness of substance abuse at Shamrock Park, Sept. 6

“Shining a Light on Recovery,” a free family event and candlelight vigil, takes place Saturday, September 6, from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Shamrock Park, 39 North Hickory Avenue in Bel Air. The event, sponsored by The Albert P. Close Foundation in partnership with Addiction Connection Resources and the Homecoming Project, aims to raise awareness about substance abuse and to remove the stigma associated with addiction. The family festivities begin at 4:30 p.m. with “Extreme” Balloon Man and master magician, Steve Gambrill, performing a show for children of all ages. The documentary, “Anonymous People,” will be shown at 5:45 p.m. Also on hand will be local organizations that offer services for the prevention and treatment of drug/alcohol addiction. Harford Land Trust to host 3rd annual Harvest Moon Dinner & Auction, Oct. 4

The Harford Land Trust will host its third annual Harvest Moon Dinner & Auction on Saturday, October 4, 2014 from 6-10 p.m. This year’s event will be held at the lovely new events center, Water’s Edge Event Center, in Belcamp, MD. Tickets to the Harvest Moon Dinner and Auction are $75 per person and include dinner, wine, beer and entertainment.
