5th Annual Rising Above It Family Fun Day to benefit SARC, Sept. 20

The 5th Annual Rising Above It Family Fun Day to benefit SARC is coming up 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 20 at Ripken Stadium. This year’s theme is Wizard of Oz and children wearing Wizard of Oz inspired costumes will be admitted free. Activities include running the bases, face painting, games, moon bounces, shopping, music, cornhole, magic performances, balloon animals, great food, live broadcast by WAMD, a chance to win a hot air balloon ride for two, pony rides (extra fee), hot air balloons (weather permitting). 5th annual Dominator 5/10K Walk and Run, Sept. 27

The 5th annual Dominator 5/10K Walk and Run to benefit childhood cancer research is coming up Sept. 27. The event is held in honor of Dominic Manuel Osorio, a local boy who lost his battle with cancer. The race benefits the D.O. Believe Foundation started in his memory to raise awareness and funds for pediatric cancer research. The 5K starts at 8:05 a.m. and the 10K starts at 9:05 a.m. at Blue Dot, 125 Industry Lane in Forest Hill. For the 5K, cost is $20 for early-bird registration and $25 if you pre-register. Harford Land Trust to host 3rd annual Harvest Moon Dinner & Auction, Oct. 4

The Harford Land Trust will host its third annual Harvest Moon Dinner & Auction on Saturday, October 4, 2014 from 6-10 p.m. This year’s event will be held at the lovely new events center, Water’s Edge Event Center, in Belcamp, MD. Tickets to the Harvest Moon Dinner and Auction are $75 per person and include dinner, wine, beer and entertainment.
