MA & PA Heritage Trail Awareness Rally, Nov. 2

The group working to connect the Forest Hill and Bel Air segments of the The MA & PA Heritage Trail is holding a walk and rally to raise awareness of the proposed trail route at 1 p.m. Nov. 2. Walkers should meet at MA & PA trailhead at Williams and Ellendale streets in Bel Air. The MA & PA Heritage Trail, Inc, a non-profit grow, obtained special permissions for trail supporters to walk the route of the proposed, but undeveloped trail. Buses, provided by the Bel Air Athletic Club, will transport walkers to the Forest Hill trail segment (off Bynum Road.) After arriving back at Williams & Ellendale Sts. walkers can enjoy live music by Birddog, snacks and activities provided by the Bel Air Athletic Club. One act opera to support renovation of Havre de Grace Opera House, Nov. 8

Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 8 pm, OPERAtunity Maryland in conjunction with the Harford Choral Society will present Cavalleria Rusticana, an Opera in One Act by Pietro Mascagni in support of the Havre de Grace Opera House Foundation and the renovation of the historic 1871 Opera House on Union Avenue. The performance will be presented at the Havre de Grace United Methodist at 101 South Union Avenue, just doors away from the Opera House itself. Tickets are $25 for show only and $30 for the show plus reception package to meet the performers and Foundation members. For details:

Founded by three Harford County homebrewers who sensed the need for a local source of homebrewing supplies, AleCraft Brewing Supply opened recently in downtown Bel Air.
