Harford Land Trust’s Third Annual Harvest Moon Dinner and Auction Raises $30,000
Bel Air, MD (Nov. 6, 2014) – On Saturday, Oct. 4, over 200 guests filled Water’s Edge Events Center in Belcamp, Md., for the Harford Land Trust’s (HLT) third annual Harvest Moon Dinner and Auction which raised $30,000 to support the organization’s mission of protecting the natural resources, scenic beauty, and rural character of Harford County.
“It was delightful to celebrate land preservation and the mission of the HLT with so many supporters,” said Ann Helton, HLT Harvest Moon Dinner and Auction event chair. “Throughout the evening and following the event, I received an overwhelming amount of praise from guests who loved the fitting location and overall atmosphere of the program.”
Harvest Moon Dinner and Auction guests, including honorary chair Peter Jay, owner of Windmill Hill Farm and co-founder of the HLT, enjoyed drinks, hors d’oeuvres, entrees and desserts provided by Water’s Edge Events Center Catering. The Maryland Conservatory of Music provided a pianist for the evening, and Jeff Conti and Patti Dallam created and donated seasonal décor. During the event HLT Vice President Richard Post’s daughter Elizabeth shared the story of her experience of working with HLT leaders to preserve Kilgore Falls during her youth.
”It was great to see such tremendous support from people and businesses from across Harford County,” remarked HLT President Ben Lloyd. “On behalf of the Board of Directors of the HLT I offer my heartfelt thanks to the event committee, to our dedicated staff and volunteers, and to all of the attendees.”

All funds raised from the Harvest Moon Dinner and Auction will go to support HLT’s work to protect and preserve important ecosystems of farmland, forests, marsh and coastal land for future generations to enjoy. Since its founding in 1991, the HLT has directly preserved over 1,500 acres, and has assisted in the preservation of roughly 20,000 acres in total.
