St. Matthew Lutheran Church Christmas Festival of Lights continues through Dec. 31

Bel Air holiday light aficionado Jim Kurtz has taken his formerly residential display to the grounds of St. Matthew Lutheran Church again this year and helped Pastor Blaise Sedney design a showpiece of 43,000 lights synchronized to holiday music. Weather permitting, the display will begin on Friday, November 28, and run through Wednesday, December 31, 2014. Operating hours run are every night starting at 6:00 pm and ending at 10:00 pm (Sunday through Thursday) and 11:00pm (Friday and Saturday), except for a few nights when the display times will be adjusted to accommodate other church functions. To check the current schedule, call 410- 838-3178 or visit www.smlc.org. Visitors are invited to bring a non-perishable food item or cash donation to support the church’s food pantry, an ongoing ministry for our community that offers assistance to those in need.

New Year’s Eve Duck Drop and Fireworks in Havre de Grace, Dec. 31

Havre de Grace’s annual New Year’s Eve Duck Drop and Fireworks celebration starts at 9 p.m. Dec. 31 at 451 Lewis Lane on the grounds of the Activity Center and HdG Middle School.
