Half-Off Fridays! at the Lutheran Mission Society Hickory Compassion Center, March 18

Visit us at the Lutheran Mission Society Hickory Compassion Center for “Half-Off Fridays!” Our gently-used items (clothing, housewares, furnishings, etc.) are 50% off all day. Friends School of Harford is hosting a free Easter Egg Hunt and pictures with the Easter Bunny event from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. March 19 at the school, 2230 Rock Spring Road in Forest Hill. The hunt is for children of all age groups. Rain date is March 20.

Bless the Best Irish Fest, March 19

Bless the Best Irish Fest to benefit the families of fallen Harford County Sheriff’s deputies Patrick Dailey and Mark Logsdon. The event that starts at noon March 19 features a blessing by a local clergyman, a hymn sung by a children’s choir and a demonstration by the Maryland Canine State Trooper Team along with games and face painting. Bel Air Downtown Alliance’s New Orleans House Party, March 19

The Bel Air Downtown Alliance is celebrating its 15th anniversary with a New Orleans House Party March 19 featuring the roots, jazz, country and blues band Bumper Jacksons at the Bel Air Armory. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for a Cajun buffet dinner with wine, beer and beverages. Show starts at 8 p.m. tickets are $75 per person and $750 for a table of 10. Benefit for fallen Harford County Sheriff’s deputies at Applebee’s, March 20

Local officers and firefighters will be serving patrons at a fundraiser for fallen Harford County Sheriff’s deputies Patrick Dailey and Mark Logsdon at 5 p.m. March 20 at the Bel Air Applebee’s. The event is to include a DJ, prizes and awards celebrating the lives and accomplishments of the fallen heroes. All tips and donations received during the event will go to the deputies’ families. The Bel Air Applebee’s is at 1225 Churchville Road.

A benefit for fallen Harford County Sheriff’s deputies Patrick Dailey and Mark Logsdon is scheduled March 20 at 510 Johnny’s, 510 Marketplace Drive, Bel Air. Walk-ins are welcome from 3:10 p.m. to 4:10 p.m. Cost is $25 and all proceeds go directly to the HCDSU Benevolent Fund for distribution to the Dailey and Logsdon families. The event is to feature Electric Stage, Rob Fahey and the Pieces, Remains of Radio, Never Never, The 1974, Top Shelf, The Willig Boys, Sam O’Hare, Relicoustic, This Your Monkey and DJ/MC Big George. Education for Women in the Middle East discussion at Harford Community College, March 21

Sally Campbell will be speaking at the next AAUW meeting on March 21 at HCC. The meeting, open to the public, will be held in Bel Air Hall, Room 104 and will begin at 7:00 PM. Ms. Campbell will be speaking on how cultural factors impact the education of women in Middle Eastern countries using anecdotal life experiences of an American woman who speaks Farsi. She has had an extensive business career and has a wide variety of expertise.
