Camp Hidden Valley Partners with Ecotone to Expand Recreation Opportunities
White Hall, MD— Located on 180 beautiful acres along the Deer Creek in White Hall, Camp Hidden Valley is known for their popular summer day camp, the Hardest 5K in Harford County, to take place this Saturday, August 20th, and the annual Valley of the Haunted trail experience in October. Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County, who operates the campgrounds, have been hard at work adding additional trails at the campground for hiking, running and mountain biking.
Ecotone, a local Harford County ecological restoration company, has been providing equipment, man hours and expertise to help create a sustainable network of trails that do not promote erosion. These trails once completed will provide recreation areas for outdoor enthusiast, as well as create opportunities to start both a running and mountain bike program.
Owner and Principal of Ecotone, Scott McGill said this about the property. “The Boys & Girls Club has found a gem of a property at Camp Hidden Valley to support their summer program. Ecotone, in Partnership with GUMBO (Gunpowder United Mountain Bike Enthusiasts) is excited to be able to help the camp create an extensive and sustainable trail network on the property.”
Executive Director of Camp Hidden Valley, Dwayne Noe, is equally excited about the potential benefits of the expansion, stating “Ecotone has been a great partner, and we have come up with a combined vision for the campgrounds that will no doubt bring great joy to our campers and wonderful new recreation opportunities for our region.”
