Overnight lane closures scheduled after 7 p.m. Oct. 11 at the MD 24 and MD 924/Tollgate Road intersection

Avoid the Route 24 and 924 intersection Monday, Oct. 11, if at all possible. Starting at 7 p.m., the right lane of southbound MD 24 will be closed. At approximately 8 p.m., the right lane of northbound MD 24 will be closed. Traffic drags will take place throughout the night. (I’m not exactly sure what those are, but they sound like something to avoid.) All this is to allow workers to install new traffic signals and shift the traffic patterns as a part of the MD 24/MD 924 interchange reconstruction project. The good news is that this will all be done by 5 a.m. Oct. 12 morning. That is, if the weather cooperates. If it doesn’t, the construction will be pushed back a day and should all be finished by the next morning. Click here to read the full press release on tonight lane closures. This closure was originally planned for Oct. 5, but was postponed due to the weather.
