This weekend is full of Halloween activities, but it’s not all costume parades and hayrides. The Arena Club is hosting a free family movie night on Friday and the Humane Society of Harford County is holding its Walk & Wag-a-Thon and Pet Fair Saturday at the Harford County Equestrian Center. Friday Family Campfires — Ghostly Tales and Treats


Join us at the Pontoon Pier property for food and seasonal fun around the campfire from 6-7:30pm Friday, October 29 at the Anita C. Leight Estuary Center, 700 Otter Point Road, Abingdon. Free Family Movie Night at The Arena Club

Free family movie night at The Arena Club on October 29th. Bring your friends and family, lawn chairs and blankets out to The Arena Club for a FREE Family Movie Night! Enjoy a showing of the classic movie, E.T. on our INDOOR field. The movie will start at 7:00 pm – the doors open at 6:15 pm. No outside food or beverages will be permitted, but concessions will be sold that night with proceeds benefitting The Coalition for a Healthy Maryland. This movie is open to the public – both club members and non members.

Bel Air Downtown Alliance offers Trick-or-Treating

The Downtown Bel Air Alliance invites you to Trick-or-Treating in Downtown Bel Air, 12pm-3pm on Saturday, October 30th. Bring the kids Downtown to visit our shops & restaurants so they can fill your bags full of delicious Halloween treats! Look for the orange balloons outside participating stores and restaurants.

Halloween Costume Parade and Contest at the Festival

Bring your kids to the 22nd annual Halloween Costume Parade and Contest at the Festival at Bel Air in Harford County on Saturday, October 30th, 2010, at 10 am! It’s TOTALLY FREE! All kids who dress up and march in the parade get candy AND trick-or-treat bags. The event features live music, cash prizes for best costumes, and a SPECIAL $250 CASH PRIZE RANDOMLY DRAWN from all attendees! WXCY-FM RADIO PERSONALITY DAVE HOVEL will be judging costumes, and kids and parents can sign up to win different FREE items from merchants at the Festival at Bel Air, including a free kids bike from Contée’s Bikes & Fitness. Best of all, every child is invited to trick or treat participating stores at the Festival at Bel Air shopping center afterwards, until 2 pm! The 22nd annual Festival at Bel Air Halloween Costume Parade is held rain or shine on Saturday, October 30th in the parking lot in front of CHUCK E. CHEESE’S.  LINE-UP starts at 9:30 am, and the parade and judging is at 10 am sharp! Havre de Grace Halloween Costume Contest & Parade of Costumes

The Havre de Grace Recreation Committee is sponsoring the costume contest and parade. The event is free and registration starts at 6:15 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3 at the corner of Washington St. and Congress Ave. Come in costume and the parade and judging begins at 6:30 p.m. Prizes awarded for best costumes & to all children in costume. Divine K-9 in Forest Hill is having their Pet Costume Parade and Contest at 12PM on Saturday, Oct. 30 at Divine K-9 at 4 Newport Dr.

Fall Flea Market & Family Fun Day

1st Mariner Bank is hosting a Fall Flea Market & Family Fun Day from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 30 at their branch at 1403 Conowingo Road in Bel Air. The event will feature pumpkin painting, a coloring contest, best guess, temporary tattoos, build-a-scarecrow contest, goody bags and more. Health Fair

On Saturday Oct. 30th from 10-2 at the Lowe’s parking lot in Abingdon, Healthy Harford is having a Wellness Fair. Although not typical Halloween stuff, the kids can come in costume, dance to Halloween music, play games, win prizes, and even walk away with a custom bike helmet fitting and free bike helmet. If they bring their bike they can participate in the bike rodeo and learn safe biking skills. Note: no candy, but there will be great prizes, giveaways, and balloons.

Halloween Dance at the American Legion

The dance will be held from 7-11 pm Saturday, Oct. 30 at the American Legion, 500 N. Hickory Ave. Tickets are $15 each or 2 for $25.00. This includes food, beer, door prizes, costume contest, cash bar & more. Please call Kim at 443-504-3203 for tickets or you can stop by 500 N. Hickory Ave. and see the bartender for tickets.

Ravens Nest 1 Pub Crawl

If you see Ravens fans wearing costumes around Bel Air between noon and 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, honk and wave. Those are members of the Ravens Nest 1 of Harford County and they’ll be dressed up for their3rd annual pub crawl. It’s a charity event that last year netted $12,000 for Harford County high school seniors.

Trunk N Treat at Mountain Christian


Trunk N Treat at Mountain Christian Church Saturday, Oct. 30 from 4-6pm in the New Life Center parking lot: Calling all kids up to 5th grade (and family & friends too)! Come to Trunk or Treat for a fantastic night of fun! You’ll travel through designated areas of the parking lot to visit decorated cars and collect a bunch of treats. And the coolest thing is this – you get to do this with your friends! So be sure to invite everyone you know to join in the festivities. Fun after dark at Hawks Hill Creamery

Hawks Hill Creamery in Street is celebrating Halloween night by staying open late to offer after dark fun including a flashlight corn maze and flashlight hay rides (don’t forget to bring your own flashlights!). Hawks Hill at 805 Highland Road is open 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Halloween night and will be serving food and ice cream. OAK GROVE BAPTIST CHURCH in Bel Air is hosting its annual Fall Festival on Sunday, October 31st from 5 pm until 7 pm. Activities include the following: trunk-or-treating (with over 25 cars and a lot of candy), straw maze (with 500 bales of straw), hay (straw) ride, “shoot the pumpkin” (archery), and food. Eden Mill Ghost Hunting

True Housewives Night of Indulgence

The next True Housewives event where members of the True Housewives Facebook group get the chance to meet face-to-face will be their “Night Of Indulgence” on Thursday, November 4th at the Dark Horse Saloon, 119 S Main St. (They asked me to mention that although True Housewives has hosted several “3rd Tuesdays Ladies Night” at Liberatore’s Bel Air, they will not be at this week’s event tomorrow night. Indoor Holiday Bazaar

The Bel Air Activities Center Senior Council is hosting an Indoor Holiday Bazaar 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday November 13TH at the William M. McFaul Activities Center in Bel Air. Bring the family and get started on your holiday shopping. Vendors and crafters will be selling  jewelry, candles, silk flower arrangements, hats, art, ornaments, purses and more. The event will also feature raffles, food and craft tables for the kids. A portion of the proceeds will benefit local charities. The William M. McFaul Activities Center is at 525 W. MacPhail Road, Bel Air,  behind the MVA that fronts Route 24. We have a spacious parking lot ready for you!

Bel Air Community Chorus Holiday Concert

Bel Air Community Chorus will perform its Holiday Concert on Sunday, December 5, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. in the Bel Air High School Performing Arts Center. Admission is free.
