North Harford Middle School PTSA Book Fair

The North Harford Middle School PTSA is sponsoring a book fair from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7 at Barnes & Noble Bookstore, 620 Marketplace Dr., Bel Air.  The event is to include face painting, games, storytelling, arts and crafts and Destination Imagination improvisations. See The New Romance Band at Looney’s

Let The New Romance Band take you back to the ’80s at Looney’s in Bel Air, 312 S Main Street, Saturday night.  The band, featuring Bel Air’s Scott Streibich on bass, plays 80s standards like Billy Idol, Depeche Mode, Journey along with New Wave and Pop. They’ll take the stage from 9:45 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $5. Peace Poster contest art reception

The Harford Artists are hosting an art reception at The Cottage, 503 Churchville Rd., featuring Bel Air Middle School students’ entries in the Lions Club “Peace Poster Contest.”  The reception will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8.

Barn Dance

Deer Creek Overlook is holding a barn dance to benefit its camp from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8. Admission is $10. The band is “Confederate Sons.” Snacks will be available. For more information, call 410-838-5464.

Auditions for two area plays

Auditions are being held this Saturday for both “Canvases  2011” and “Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat.” Auditions for “Canvases” will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.m at the Amoss Center at Harford Technical High School, 200 Thomas Run Road, Bel Air. Take your dog on a hike led by an Eden Mill Nature Center naturalist from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9. Cost for members is $3 per person or $10 for a family of four.
