At 7 a.m. this Sunday, the long-awaiting Abingdon Wegmans opens its doors. The store at 21 Wegmans Blvd. in the Boulevard at Box Hill complex will be laid out a little differently from the Hunt Valley store, according to a recent story in The Aegis. It will feature a food bar where customers order off a menu and then watch the chef prepare their food. The Aegis story also said workers will ring a bell to alert customers when they are about to fillet a fresh fish, in case they want to watch. In other grocery store news, I learned today that the Mars store that is going into the former SuperFresh location in the Bel Air Plaza plans to open in late October or early November. There is an employee at the location now taking applications for jobs at the store. The interior is starting to look like a new grocery with refrigerators in place and tile laid. If you’re interested in applying for a job stop by the store or visit http://www.marsfood.com/about/employment/ to download an application.
