Harford County Sheriff’s Deputy injured while attempting to arrest breaking and entering suspect


The Harford County Sheriff’s Office is reporting a deputy was injured during while attempting to apprehend one of three men suspected of breaking and entering an Edgewood residence Wednesday night. Here are the details released by the department:

(March 1, 2012, 1:00am – Edgewood MD) At approximately 10:20pm on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 – Harford County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call for service in the 1800 block of John Drive in Edgewood, MD for a report of breaking and entering. When deputies arrived at the scene, they established a perimeter and after hearing a scream from inside, forced entry into the residence. Inside they located three suspects, who attempted to flee. Two suspects were apprehended by the deputies. The third suspect jumped through a plate glass window to elude capture.

A Harford County Sheriff’s Office deputy suffered a severe laceration to his arm while trying to apprehend the third suspect. He was transported to John Hopkins Bayview Medical Center by ambulance by Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company. The deputy is currently listed to be in serious but stable condition.
