The city of Havre de Grace changed its Santa arrival date this weekend to 6 p.m. on Saturday due to reports of inclement weather. It’s First Fridays event is on for tonight. Here are the details from the city’s Office of Marketing and Tourism:
It is First Fridays tonight Dec 6th and all our shops and restaurants have all dressed up for the holidays and we encourage you to to take advantage of their extend hours, unique holiday displays and gift ideas this evening.
Due to the information from the North Pole’s weather station Santa’s arrival to Havre de Grace has been changed to Saturday December 7th at 6 pm.
There will be no parade.
The festivities of the tree lighting will be taking place at Rochambeau Plaza and the 100 and 200 block of Washington Street on Saturday with our community organizations.
Kris Kringle has been informing the Susquehanna Hose Company of his arrival on Saturday December 7th and they will be escorting him to the tree in the only way the SHCO can at 6 pm. Please join us in welcoming Mr. and Mrs. Claus to Havre de Grace, enjoy the Train Garden put on display at the Masonic Lodge on Washington Street. Join the Caroling and enjoy the music prior to the lighting. It will be an old fashion tree lighting in Havre de Grace Saturday December 7th at 6 pm.
